Its new years eve

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

It is the last day of the year and here I am blogging. Not the best way to spend new year's eve, but I don't think I am in a position to complain. I have had the best year this time around. I have accomplished many things, some major accomplishments, some minor accomplishments. I have experienced many new things. Done a few things that I never thought I would do.

Probably the worst thing to ever happen this year was that time just flew by, maybe a little too fast that I could not enjoy what I had accomplished. I mean seriously! Time really really flew this year.

So yes, by now I'm sure you would have guessed that I am back from Ipoh. Went to Taiping Zoo as well! Lots and lots of pictures but I think I will save it for the next post. It was so fun!! :D

Anyways, Happy New Year everyone. May all of you have a blessed year ahead :)

Its the 25th!!

Christmas decorations

Friday, December 19, 2008

Okay, this post is going to be all about my opinions on the Christmas decorations in malls this year. I've been to KLCC, One Utama, Midvalley and, of course, Sunway Pyramid. Compare these four and I think there is no question that Pyramid outdid all the other malls. KLCC had a really huge tree, and some gift boxes hanging from the ceilings. One Utama had a few trees here and there. Midvalley had............what were their decorations again? Oh oh! They had this huge clown thingy in the centre of the stage right? And a few trees around the mall.

Pyramid did such a good job compared to the other three malls. Beautiful colours, pretty lights and lovely christmas songs. Finally, I feel the chritmasy mood! :D

OH GOSH!! I can't wait for christmas!!! I WANT TO OPEN MY PRESENTS!!!!!!!
Right, my hyperness has set in....hahah!
I just love christmas! Singing carols that make you feel so warm, opening presents from loved ones, and spending the whole day with them. Pure bliss.

Through the eyes of a child by Reamonn

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Why did we make it so hard, this life is so complicated until we see it through the eyes of a child.

PS : I do realise that their video is not that good but it's the song that matters. =)

Of shopping malls and swimming pools

Saturday, December 13, 2008

Went to Midvalley today. Mostly we went there to see the decorations. We do it almost every year. I like the idea of just going to see the decorations. Of course, there will always be shopping involved, be it window shopping or actually buying something. This time around I don't think we bought anything. My cousins bought a few books from MPH. I was mostly looking at shoes! :D

I love this pair! AH! I think they're so sexay! haha. But the heel might be too high for me. MIGHT be...not sure. I still love this pair. And I'm into straps now. :D

Once we were done with Midvalley we went to my aunt's office area to swim! Gosh it's been ages since I've swam. I don't remember swimming last year so that will make it almost 2 years without swimming! It was so nice to get into the pool and swim from one end to the other. And then everything was runied by rain. Cursed rain. I think I only got to spend about an hour in there. Pfft. Oh well, at least I swam :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Monsoon Season

Monday, December 8, 2008

I honestly do not like the rainy season AT ALL! It's so gloomy, and wet, and makes you just plain lazy. You're lazy to make up in the morning, lazy to go anywhere, lazy to do anything, and the day just becomes boring. Lazy, boring days.

You know, I've been thinking, about how kids at the age of 7 are having their own laptops and stuff now. At first I was really shocked. I thought that it was the worst way to deprive a kid of his/her childhood. I mean, imagine 20 years from now, they'll be saying : "Back when I was a kid, I used to play a lot of computer games at home." instead of "I used to play football in the park" or "I used to play hide and seek with the neighbours". Kinda sad.

But then when you think about it, things have changed. It's not safe to play on the roads anymore. Crime rates have gone up, not to mention the number of reckless drivers on the road. So I guess staying at home and playing on the computer is in a way the best thing for a kid these days. Plus, the use of computers in school have been implemented in schools, so its only normal for kids to want their own laptops, I think. Haha!

Henna

Sunday, December 7, 2008

I love putting henna on my hands! OK maybe not love, because the whole waiting-for it-to-dry part can be very very tiring, and after a while you get all annoyed because you can't do anything with your hands. Oh but the end result is so beautiful!

My sister's hand

My aunt is very good in art, so she can do henna designs free hand. She did both of these designs on the spot. Yeap, she's good =D

Finally!

Saturday, November 29, 2008

After days and days of trying to figure out how to work this thing, I have finally succeeded in changing my template! *clap hands*

Basically I was looking for a new template and Christmas-themed templates kept popping up everywhere seeing as how the it is December. So I thought, why not be extra festive this year eh? Haha! This template will only last a month. And then I'll switch it back.

The holidays have officially started. Happy holidays people =)

Oh yes, if I have missed out anybody in my link list let me know, I'll link you up :D

Friends

Thursday, November 27, 2008

You think you know a person. You trust people. You tell them everything about you. You share everything, you go all out to make sure they're happy, you care for them.
Next thing you know, they ignore you. They stop keeping in touch with you. They make excuses all the time. They make it a point to look as awkward as possible when around you. They tell you lies. Lies that hurt so bad, and when you ask them, they still pretend like nothing has happened. They forget about you. They ignore you. They use you.

And all of this just because a guy came into the picture.

How do you know who to trust? How do you know who's your friend and who's not? How do you know who's pretending and who's genuine? How do you tell who's friend and who's foe?

You've made it clear we're not needed anymore. We're not important to you anymore.
FYI, we don't need you anymore either.

flying fox....freaking high! by the way, to all those who helped me, thank you!

I have bruises all over my leg, I am sunburned, I have a leech bite on my foot, and my body aches all over. BUT, I am one step closer to overcoming my fear of heights, I am now not afraid of millipedes and I met a bunch of wonderful people. There was kayaking, flying fox, jungle trekking, obstacle course, telematch activities and a lot more. I had loads of fun. WE had loads of fun

:)

A fire truck...

Sunday, November 16, 2008

So it was a normal Sunday night. We were all watching this movie on Starworld. It's called "Outsourced". It's a really good movie. Funny, yet at the same time, a bit of an eye-opener. It's about this guy from America who has to go work in India. At first he finds it really hard to adapt to the traditions and customs of the Indian people. Eventually he learns to adapt and realises that life in another country is not too bad after all.

Ok, I'm straying off topic. So yeah, like I said, we were all watching TV, when suddenly I hear something that sounds very much like a mini explosion, and I see this orange flash outside. So we went out to see what had happened, and we saw a fire truck outside. My dad guessed that maybe the transformers blew or something. But whatever it was, my question is, how is it the fire truck was already there? And how come we didn't hear the truck coming? I mean normally you would hear the sirens and everything, right?

HAHA! It's like the mystery of the fire truck or something......OK, no, scratch that.....

Ze fire truck, best picture I could get

Happy birthday!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Today is Jitz's 18th birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREN!!!!!

We had bought a cake for him and we did our best to make sure he did not know about it. At least I thought we did...but turns out he knew all along...HAHA! So much for keeping it a surprise.....

Oh but we did cream his face...pretty bad....ahahahahhahah! I doubt he saw that coming. Poor guy had cream in his nose. And he can still smell the cake.
Nice right the smell of the cake?? hehe

Reflection.

For some reason I can't find my pictures from Ikano. Oh well :)

Free balloons

Sunday, November 2, 2008

The semester exams are over. What a relief. Finally I get the time to take things a bit easier, do things at my own pace, in a way.

Today, I was at Ikano. Working. Hehe. Yeap, you read right, I was working. From 10am - 6pm. I was giving out free balloons. Hehehe. It wasn't so bad. It was actually a lot of fun. I eventually enjoyed the idea of giving out balloons to little kids. There was this girl, for some reason she was crying, she couldn't get something or other, so I walked up to her and gave her a balloon, and she smiled at me with the sweetest smile and said thank you with the cutest voice ever. Even the parents are happy when you give their kid a balloon coz in a way the kid settles down for a bit. But I have to admit, it was tiring. Gawd, I'm so tired right now. Skipping college tomorrow. Its just one day! Heheh...I honestly need the break. I want to sleep without having to worry about waking up early the next morning...

SLEEEP!!!!!!!!! :P

Twilight

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Twilight. A movie I definitely want to watch. I've always liked stories about vampires. Ever since I read all Darren Shan books. LOVE vampire stories. I saw the trailer. Got so excited :P
Anybody want to go with me???? :D

Diwali pictures coming soon. Camera battery died so I haven't transferred the pictures. HAHA!

PS : All the best to those who are having exams! (AS people and SPM people and INTI people....hehe)

And so it begins

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Diwali (or more commonly known as Deepavali) is around the corner. My mum and aunts have started baking! :D

Today, my mum and sis went to my aunt's place to make "balushai" This is how you make "balushai"

OK so first you mix flour, and ghee......and....er....water......that's all I think.

And then you make little circles, and you press the middle a little to get the shape.

These round balls of dough are then deep fried.

As if that's not fattening enough, you then proceed to coat it with loads of sugar.
(see the sugar coating on it???......excuse the pixel quality, i blame it on the lighting :P )

Heaven :) I can eat a whole tupperware full of these every year and still not get sick of it. I want some more!!!!
Oh oh! My mum baked cookies as well. I think it's butter cookies with icing on the top, and the design is coffee....YUM! I LOVE this time of year. Bring out the FOOD people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apple Pie! :D

Sunday, October 12, 2008

My mum made apple pie today. Or something like that. Hehe. Its basically bread with apple filling in the middle.

Fresh out of the ovenSee the apples inside... YUMMY! :D

I'm good at taking pictures of food, yes? :P

Oh and I saw this video on Youtube. It's a really good video. I admit, the sound quality is terrible. But its the purpose of the song and the lyrics that made me fall in love with this song.
Don't give up,
Through it all, just stand up
=)

Time has really flown. In just a few more weeks, the second semester will be ending. This year really flew by for me. A lot has happened. I went places, started college, met an awesome bunch of people. I used to be afraid of change. I liked the way things were. To me, I felt like I wanted things to be just the way they were. Maybe it was because I did not know what to expect. I was afraid that things would change for the worse. But, I've started to appreciate change. Life is boring without change. Life is boring if you don't take chances. So now, I can't wait to see what else in my life is going to change.

:D

PS: ALL THE BEST TO PMR PEOPLE!!!!!!!

(why are my words underlined??)

Movie season

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Mamma Mia is out!

It's a really good musical. I like the storyline. And not forgetting the songs. ABBA songs are really nice! I wanna watch it!

Mamma mia, here I go again....

Eagle Eye is out too.

Shia Labeouf has really changed! From the goofy kid who always gets in trouble in Even Stevens to.....THIS! And, if I may say so, he's quite cute now..haha! The trailer of this movie itself is so cool!

My sister was being pretty random just now :

Sis : What's worse than finding a worm in your apple?
Me : umm.........
Mum : *stares at my sis*
Sis : Finding HALF a worm

EW!

Haha! It took my mum about 10 seconds to get it! LOL!

chemistry experiments are colourful

see? nice rite?

ok, these are not so pretty. In fact, its far from pretty. When you pour out the white one, it honestly looks like puke.

Copper sulphate is so pretty! I love the colour

This is what happens when the teacher is late for class....hehe

Subway coffee is GOOOOOOD!!

Physics experiment. a LOT of wires. Can be confusing....

Went to one of the Old Folk's Home in Klang today. The first thing that spooked us when we got there was the fact that the home was located right next to a cemetery. I don't know about ya'll but to me it was like saying, "You're going to go soon, might as well stay some place near". Harsh. The old folk's were friendly. But there wasn't much I could do because of the language barrier. Yeap, they all speak Chinese. So many of us just tagged along and did what we could.

They have a pretty organised system there. There's a president, a vice president, that sort of thing. The president was telling us that they don't take in those who don't have kids. Basically those who are alone. My heart went out to this one lady, who was sold off by her parents at the age of 10. The people who bought her abused, causing stunted growth. I'm just glad her suffering has ended.

We sang songs. It was fun, it brightened up their days. We saw them smile. What more could we ask for :)

Bad thing about these kinda trips is that you end up stuffing yourself with junk in the bus. Argh! Why must junk taste SOOO goood????? Haha

FRIENDS! :D

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Happy (belated) birthday!

I am lucky to have you as my friend. Sure, we may have had our little misunderstandings, but what's a friendship without misunderstandings? In any relationship, misunderstandings are bound to happen. We got over them, that's all that matters :) I'm glad we became friends. I'm glad we sat next to each other during moral class in form 3 :D

Don't forget, when you get a boyfriend, I must be the first one you call okay? :P And stop planning to go to the movies and ditch me last minute lah! Hahah.

p/s : I know you're eyes are closed, but I don't have any other picture of the two of us. Hahaha

Quotes that inspire

A man met the Buddha on the street one day and began to call him mean and ugly names.
Buddha listened quietly and thoughtfully until the man ran out of epithets, and had to pause for breath.
"If you offer something to a man and he refused it, to whom does it belong?” asked Buddha.
The spiteful man replied, “It belongs, I suppose, to the one who offered it.”
Then Buddha said, “The abuse and vile names you offer me, I refuse to accept.”
The man turned and walked away.

The next time you feel like cursing someone face-to-face, I suggest you think twice about what you're gonna say ;)

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!
The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly.
So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!’
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call ‘The Law of the Garbage Truck.’
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.
Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the street.
The bottom line is that successful people don’t let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so…
‘Love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don’t.’
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Patience is a virtue :)

What a simple hug can represent

Sunday, September 7, 2008

This video brought me to tears. I was honestly touched by it.

Life can be hard. We all go through stress. We all go through heartbreaks. We all face challenges in life. And there's no guarantee that everything will go well. Sometimes things turn out so badly, all you want to do is lock yourself up in the room and cry your heart out.

A simple hug does not make our troubles vanish. But, it definitely helps. A hug can help you rise and move on. A hug can make you smile, even if its just for a little while. A hug can mean a lot, even to a stranger.

What stress does to people

I went for part of Emerge 2008 yesterday. First time going for Emerge. Basically, it's a 3-day event (I think) where Christians from many churches come together. We had pastors from Singapore as well as from Taiwan. Later on I found out that there were actually Taiwanese stars in the front row as well. I kid you not. City Harvest's Pastor Kevin was preaching in Taiwan, which explains the humble presence of the stars...haha. It was fun. It was like any normal service, except that there was much more energy around us. It was...powerful...and amazing. You have people from all over come together for one purpose. I loved every moment of it. :D

Later I went to my cousin's house for BARBECUE! :D It was my aunt's birthday that day. The food was oh-so-good. Compliments to the chef ;) There were sausages, chicken, corn, lamb kebabs, cake and chocolate eclairs. I had so much meat in one night. Let's see, 4 sausages ( or was it 5?), a drumstick, chicken wings, and i don't know how much lamb. Oh well, it's not like I go for a bbq every night right?

This is Jehan. My cheeky yet adorable nephew :) He was pouring water all over the garden! So cute!

Ahhh....mojito! It was good :D

Jehan and LB the dog.

I didn't get to take pictures of the food. Basically I gobbled it all down before I got the camera out...hehe. No lah, I was just too lazy to take pictures of the food. I mean, who in their right mind would patiently take out the camera, get a good picture of the food, and only then start to eat??!! I mean in restaurants yeah I do that, but not at bbq's. The sausages were too tempting ;)

Just some random pictures of my dogs. Patch and Pixie. <3

Weeeeeee~~~~~~

Saturday, August 23, 2008

A day well spent :) I had 5 hours with the best friends ever. We spent 5 hours in Taipan! I know, of all places right? It turned out to be quite fun. All in all, we went to 3 restaurants and 4 boutiques I think. We ate quite a bit! We had coffee and a calzone and a huge bowl of spaghetti and gelato! Ok it doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it felt like a lot! hehe

AHHH....don't it look good :P

I haven't laughed this much in ages! HAHA! The silly conversations and the clumsiness and the ridiculous visions of the future and the gossips and the silly jokes! :D These are the moments I won't forget.
