A day passed by,
a week passed by,
a month passed by,
Before I knew it,
another year passed by,
and now I'm 17.

My family and I went for Dim Sum breakfast this morning! We went to this place in USJ 21. It was really packed. We were lucky to find a place. The food was really good. I was so full, I could barely walk after that. It was nice to have dim sum after so long! I haven't had dim sum in ages, so I decided to ask my parents to take me there today. YUMMY!

DIM SUM!!!!! it was really filling.

My favourite dish...some prawn thingy
with sauce that tasted like mayo.....

my daddy and sister tucking in!

Mummy! :)

Doesn't look like we took a lot of dishes, but it
sure feels like we ate too much!!!!

Me and Roshni on the way back, testing out
my new phone ;)

Mummy is taking me shopping later. Yes, I am going shopping AGAIN. Hehe. But I don't think I will be buying anything today, unless I see something I really want. Window shopping can be really nice. You walk into a shop, try on clothes regardless of the price, and then give it all back to the shop people. HAHAHH.

Oh yes, and Happy Birthday to Su Yi! The girl who has the same birthday as me!

it's been a long day

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Went to Pyramid today! Watched Made of Honour. It was half funny, half romantic :) So basically, it was a romantic comedy, perfect for a girl's day out..haha.

After watching the movie, Debbie, Pui Yee, Jessica and I did some SHOPPING! A girl's day out is not a girl's day out without shopping. We bought clothes, accessories, make up and food!!!! Hehe. We were walking from 1pm right to 3pm, with heels, and probably a 20 minute break in between. We stopped at KFC and Starbucks. Debbie and Pui Yee treated me to a Dark Mocha Frappuccino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Thank you so much!) :) I ate so much! I had half a bucket of popcorn, half a packet of Mr Potato, a bit if Sprite, curly fries, a but of lemonade, pretzel, and a frap. All in 2 hours! :O I didn't know I could eat that much.

Immediately after I came back, I rushed off for piano class. And then straight after that I went out with my parents again. Just came back like an hour ago. Today has been one looooooooong day and it was a goooooood day. :D

ps: to debbie, pui yee, and ping yee, thank you so much for the necklace!

Britain's got talent

Sunday, June 22, 2008

I was browsing through youtube and came across this show. Britain's Got Talent is a, as the title says, is a talent show. If I am not mistakes, the winner gets to perform in front of the Queen. These videos show some of the top contestants.

OK, for some reason I can't upload the videos, so I'll just post up the links.

Andrew Johnston
Signature
George Sampson

Those are the few I enjoyed watching. Andrew Johnston is this young boy who gets bullied all the time, and only has him mum to support him. He's a soprano singer. Really, really good. He gives me the chills!. Signature consists of these 2 guys who combined michael jackson songs with bhangra music. Watch it and you'll understand what I'm saying. George Sampson is a streetdancer, and a really good one at that. He is so good, that Simon Cowell said he was "phenomenal". Simon Cowell has not used that word until now.

Watch the videos!

WILD WILD WEST!

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Last night was INTI's orientation night. The theme was Wild Wild West. To be honest, I was very VERY skeptical about going because, 1)the theme is weird and 2) many were complaining about last year's orientation night. But after much bugging from certain friends, I thought what the heck, why not give it a go. I am so glad I decided to go! haha...

I admit, the first half was quite boring. The opening performance wasn't that good. That was followed by 4 speeches. At this point I was thinking to myself :What a waste of time! I could be having a better time at home! That's when things started getting better. Mr Sam, our Head of A-Levels, sang "You Raise Me Up". He can sing! haha. It was really good. Then there was a Yo-yo performance by M-Yo. Yes, you read right, a Yo-yo performance. As childish as that sounds, it was actually an awesome performance. These guys, and girl, were professionals, which means they had skill, and they could do more than just fling the yo-yo up and down. They were throwing it here and there, flinging it around, making triangles, and all sorts of things. The crowd was cheering their heads off. Haha. We were cheering for people who were playing the yo-yo..........

The other highlight of the night was the beat box performance. This guy was soooooo gooood!!!!!! Although, I have to say, the beat boxers who performed at my prom night last year, they're performance is still the best performance I have seen.

There were some flaws though. The microphones were way too soft, so every time a band went up to perform, all we could hear were the instruments. The singer could not be heard at all. That was a pity. And, I didn't win anything for the lucky draw! :( The grand prize, was a Nokia N77!!!!! And the guy who won it had actually won 3 other gifts before that. Apparently he bought 10 tickets. Isn't that considered cheating!

Other than that I would say all in all it was a good night! :)

Life tends to get in the way

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Ever notice how there are times when you want something so badly, and then just at the last minute, it all goes wrong? Too many assignments all of a sudden, friends excuse themselves from the plan, things get delayed, things get rushed.........so basically, life gets in the way, and sometimes, that makes you feel real pathetic and lousy and angry and frustrated.....then again, sometimes life can be full of pleasant surprises......

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

Happy Father's Day Daddy! We went out for breakfast just now. Went to Park Way. Yummmy! :D
I am sooooo full right now. Other than that I don't think we're doing anything else. I can smell something good, so I guess my mum made some sort of dessert. My mum is always making awesome desserts :D......bread pudding, chocolate cake, double choc brownies, scones, muffins, cupcakes, more cakes hehe.

Oh yes, here are the pictures I promised. ENJOY! :)

Orphanage Visit

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Today, the Rotaract Club of ICSJ went to Kajang to visit kids at Rumah Kesayangan Kami. The day was long but we all enjoyed ourselves :)

We were in college by 9 and practiced singing (yes, we sang) till about 10, which is when the van came. It was quite freaky, in a way. We were all singing pleasantly and smiling to ourselves when suddenly we heard this screeching sound and then sounds from the exhaust. The driver just kept on pressing on the exhaust and the car was making some really weird sounds. All of us were looking at each other going "Is that the van that's going to take us to Kajang safely???" Then another van came and waited at the basketball court. We split into 2 groups. I went into the scary van. Only later did we find out that the other van was waaaay better. Air conditioned and all. *sigh* Our driver turned out to be a really nice guy. Mr Siva was his name.

We arrived at the orphanage one hour earlier than expected. Haha. They were watching Mr Bean!!! And the facilitators were rushing them to the front to greet us. We started it off with an ice-breaking session. Everyone stood up and said their name ,age and hobby. There were too many names though, I don't think I remember any........hehe......

Then we divided into little groups and started playing some games. We played the ABC game, the telur game, and chop chilli. All suggested by the kids. After that they all wanted to play catch. We played like 5 rounds of it. I was running up and down. I was so tired but my goodness the kids had soooo much ENERGY. They kept wanting to play on and on and on. Eventually they stopped and was ready for lunch. A few Rotaractors cooked fried rice, nuggets, and made sandwiches. Oh yes, there was also mee hoon. Then after that we brought out the cake. We were celebrating all the kids birthdays. Yeap.....ALL their birthdays. And then we sang for them!!!! :D

The smile on your face
lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand
says you'll catch me
whenever I fall
You say it best
when you say nothing at all

There's more to it but I've forgotten the lyrics :P

And then we taught them a dance. Hehe. All in all it was a great day. The young kids were adorable! And they were so disciplined! When they eat there's a specific position for all of them to sit. And they sit on the floor. They say a prayer before they eat and thanked us for the food. There were these two girls who were following me everywhere. Haha. Yes, they liked me. :D

I will put up pictures later on. I need to steal from other blogs hehe. My camera is still not working! argh! So maybe I'll post some tomorrow.....

Updates ;)

I cut my hair! It turned out way shorter than I wanted, but I guess I could live with short hair for a while. It'll grow back! It's seriously short right now. Just above my shoulder! I miss my long hair...... But I did do this for charity. Because I cut my hair, a poor kid is getting breakfast :D It was in Pyramid. All the money collected is going to charity. So yeah, maybe cutting my hair wasn't such a bad idea after all.

I am the Professional Development Director if the Rotaract Club! I admit, it's going to be quite a handful. I have to try and organise 3 talks and a camp this year. But honestly, I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a whole new experience. Plus, so many have come up to me and offered to help me in whatever way possible. To those of you who did, I really appreciate it. :) As long as I manage my time well, I should be able to accomplish a lot.

The homework pile is building up. Everytime I finish something, another thing replaces that. I've also got Malaysian studies assignment to complete. There's also the experiment reports, not to mention the quizzes in class. I'm really enjoying the experiments. So far I've done 2 chemistry experiments and 2 physics experiments. It was quite easy :P that's why I enjoyed them.....
hehe.... Can't wait for the next experiments!
