It feels good to be back :) Just flew down from London on Sunday. Had a bit of trouble with jet lag.....but otherwise loving it. I am feeling warm after experiencing winter.
London was awesome! I loved it so much, and I definitely want to go back someday. The first day there, I tried on some winter clothes......
I don't look too bad....hehe. I stayed with my cousin in Kingston. It's quite close to the Thames River, which means there's a lot of wind, so it was quite cold. Especially in the park. The park was very beautiful! It's a huge park and you see boys playing football, kids playing with their dogs, people feeding the ducks, stuff like that.
I also spent a lot of time at the high street. It's an area with a lot of shops and only for people to walk around, no vehicles coming in and out. One thing different there is people walk all the time. Not many people use cars or buses or taxis. They use the trains a lot, and walk a LOT! I don't remember seeing any motorcycles.......... Oh yeah, people there also use bicycles a lot. Some even cycle to work.....
I visited the National History Museum, which sounds boring, but is actually very very interesting, especially the dinosaur section. There's also the water life section and the earth section. These 3 were the sections I enjoyed the most.
I also visited the wax museum, Madame Tussaud's. It was nice, but the wax statues didn't look anything like who they were supposed to be. Wayne Rooney's face looked all squashed. And Shah Rukh Khan looked older than he is. The only statue that looked real was the one of Princess Diana. It was really beautiful.
Let's come to food. Ooh, where shall I start....ooh ooh, sausage and mash! Yummy! A lot of food....but yummy. The fish and chips were so good. Too much chips though. One thing about the food there that you'll realise in an instant is the amount of carbs they have in their food. So many potatoes, huge slices of bread, stuff like that. I suppose it suits their lifestyle. Londoners walk a lot. Not many people use cars or buses. They walk to the train station, get to another station and walk to where ever they need to go. Everywhere people are walking. The places I went to were very pedestrian friendly. They designate special walkways and create no-vehicle zones. The cyclists have their own paths too.
I also watched Mamma Mia the Musical at Prince Wales Theatre. It was a really good show! I enjoyed myself so much! I had ABBA fever for 3 days!
I also saw the London Eye, Westmister Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards, and St Paul's Cathedral in one day!
All in all I enjoyed myself thoroughly in London and would definitely like to go there again someday. :)
