Work like you don't need the money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
Dance like nobody's watching,
Sing like nobody's listening,
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.
There comes a time in life where you realise that no matter what is happening, good or bad, you've gotta make the best of everything, and LIVE, because hey, we all know life is too short to sulk.

A trip down memory lane
Sunday, February 22, 2009 by anusha
Many people collect things. I know of people who collect stamps, matchboxes, sweet wrappers, and some even collect ang pau packets.
Me, I collect key chains. Everytime I go someplace new, I buy a key chain. It's sort of my way of remembering the places I've been too. A way to keep memories.
This was from a Butterfly Farm. I remember I got this when I was in standard 6. The teachers had planned a class trip for us. We went to the Deer Farm, the Butterfly Farm, and then had a picnic in Lake Gardens.
I also got this when i was in standard 6. The teachers were so nice. They made one for each and every student. Of course, it wasn't that many seeing as how it was a small school and only like 3 or 4 classes, if I remember correctly. But it's the fact that they actually did this for us. :)
This is from Botanic Gardens! A bunch of us had made a day-trip. I still remember all that happened! I remember everyone complaining how hot the sun was. And there were a few minor accidents involving the bicycles. Haha. I also remember what a great time we had. Oh gosh this is so nostalgic.
Ah. This one brings back so many memories. Sweet memories.....
Then there are the ones given to me.
From Pangkor. OK, I can't remember who gave me this one. (Debbie, was it you?)
From Bali. This one was definitely from Debbie. SO CUTE!!! Hehe
This is the one with a design inside the glass. Not sure if you can see but its actually orchids inside.
Canada! From Shin Ying darling :) Just as we became the best of friends, she moved to Canada. But that didn't make us any less close. If anything, it made us closer. :)
OK, I'm fully aware this is not a keychain, but I keep it with all the other keychains. Its supposed to be an actual replica of a rock. The picture is blur, but it is actually really really pretty for a rock. And shiny!! I love shiny stuff. Haha.
These are a few keychains my dad gave to me.
I love my keychain collection :D
Went to Pyramid yesterday. Was browsing through a few books and found this recipe book for tweens. Flipped it open and saw a recipe for chocolate milkshake.
It was called cocoa nana shake. HAHAHHAHAHAHAH
And for some weird reason I keep thinking today's a Saturday.

Thinking
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 by anusha
These past few days I've been doing a lot of thinking.
Thinking about the past, about the decision's I've made and of how it's affected where I am today.
Thinking about the present, about what I'm doing to make the best of things, about how I'm coping, about how I handle my life.
Thinking about the future, about the decisions I will have to make, about the changes that will come with it, about how these changes are going to affect me, and of how I'm going to adapt to these changes.
There are people who tell me that I'm wasting my time doing A-Levels. That I should have just done my degree. Then there are people who tell me that me deciding to do A-Levels was a really wise choice.
I say that I don't think I'm wasting my time. I have my reasons as to why I chose A-Levels, and I must say, I stand by my reasons. What's wrong with a little extra knowledge, right?
****************************************
I just remembered something my sister told me
You know how Chinese who can't speak Chinese are called bananas?
Apparently, the Indians are called Oreos.
-.-

Friday the 13th
Friday, February 13, 2009 by anusha
So 13 is supposed to be an unlucky number, and Friday an unlucky day. This means Friday the 13th is a really really unlucky day.
I actually Googled Friday the 13th, because up till now, I didn't really know what was so unlucky about it. The theories I found!
Rossini was surrounded to the last by admiring and affectionate friends; and if it be true that, like so many other Italians, he regarded Friday as an unlucky day, and thirteen as an unlucky number, it is remarkable that on Friday, the 13th of November, he died
Goodness. Needless to say, I do not believe in all this. Because there have been so many "Friday the 13th"'s over the years and nothing has ever happened to me. And today was possibly the best day of the week for me. This whole week I've been knocking into tables, spilling water, etc etc. Today I did not bang into anything, did not break anything, did not spill anything. Yeah, so basically it was a good day for me.
It's all superstition.

On the other hand, another theory by author Charles Panati, one of the leading authorities on the subject of "Origins" maintains that the superstition can be traced back to ancient myth:
- The actual origin of the superstition, though, appears also to be a tale in Norse mythology. Friday is named for Frigga, the free-spirited goddess of love and fertility. When Norse and Germanic tribes converted to Christianity, Frigga was banished in shame to a mountaintop and labeled a witch. It was believed that every Friday, the spiteful goddess convened a meeting with eleven other witches, plus the devil - a gathering of thirteen - and plotted ill turns of fate for the coming week. For many centuries in Scandinavia, Friday was known as "Witches' Sabbath
Another theory about the origin of the superstition traces the event to the arrest of the legendary Knights Templar. According to one expert:
- The Knights Templar were a monastic military order founded in Jerusalem in 1118 C.E., whose mission was to protect Christian pilgrims during the Crusades. Over the next two centuries, the Knights Templar became extraordinarily powerful and wealthy. Threatened by that power and eager to acquire their wealth, King Philip secretly ordered the mass arrest of all the Knights Templar in France on Friday, October 13, 1307 - Friday the 13th
Goodness. Needless to say, I do not believe in all this. Because there have been so many "Friday the 13th"'s over the years and nothing has ever happened to me. And today was possibly the best day of the week for me. I read a quote the other day that I found to be really really true.
"A true friend is a friend who knows everything about you, and still wants to be your friend"
And I must say I feel really blessed to have true friends :)
Sorry for the lack of proper updates. College work is seriously keeping me busy. I'll come up with one soon!

The part I hate about growing up
Wednesday, February 4, 2009 by anusha
Everyone's leaving. Some to Australia, a few going UK some may be going US later on.
It feels like just yesterday we used to see each other every single day.
Just yesterday we were all under one roof.
And now everyone has gone separate ways.
I knew this day was coming. I just didn't expect it to come so soon.
We're all growing up, and I don't like it one bit.
Sometimes, I just wished things could stay the way they are, cos I like the way things are right now.
Speaking about growing up, Roy Wong Yeh Hee turned 19 today!!
*i feel so young :P *
